Silk

I wonder why you didn’t come home last night

A breeze whispered your name, the clock stopped ticking

Silence grew on me like a glass of red wine

I drank the hours away

The night was dark, but you never came

Yesterday was the last time I saw you

As we threw sharp words at each other

Stripped naked like a blank page

And now I sleep on red paper pillows

Forgotten how your silken voice whispered my name
